Uplift Language Centre Summer Camp

This summer, Fun Learners' School partnered with Uplift Language Centre to organize an exciting and educational summer camp for Thai students. The camp was designed to help students improve their English skills through fun, hands-on activities, including engaging science experiments that made learning enjoyable and memorable.

Learning English Through Science

The summer camp focused on integrating English language learning with interactive science experiments. Students were encouraged to communicate in English while participating in the experiments, fostering both language development and scientific curiosity. The combination of practical activities and language immersion created a dynamic environment where learning was natural and fun.

Exciting Experiments That Sparked Curiosity

The camp featured a variety of creative science experiments that captivated the students:

1. Water Rocket Students learned the principles of physics and propulsion launching their water rockets. This hands-on activity not only taught them scientific concepts but also encouraged teamwork and communication in English.

2. DIY Ice Cream Making ice cream from scratch was a delicious way for students to explore the science of freezing and chemical reactions. The activity also introduced them to new vocabulary and phrases related to food and science.

3. Oobleck The students experimented with this fascinating non-Newtonian fluid, learning about states of matter in a fun and interactive way. Describing the texture and behaviour of oobleck helped enhance their descriptive language skills.

4. Salt and Ice Experiment By observing how salt lowers the freezing point of ice, students discovered scientific principles while improving their ability to follow instructions and discuss their observations in English.

A Memorable Experience

The Thai students had a fantastic time participating in the summer camp. They not only improved their English skills but also developed a deeper interest in science. Through these fun activities, students gained confidence in speaking English, learned new vocabulary, and practised sentence structures in a supportive and interactive setting.
